## The question, as the venue words it

Will the Democrats win the Michigan Senate race in 2026?

## How this market settles

This market will resolve according to the winner of the 2026 midterm Michigan U.S. Senate election, inclusive of any run-offs.

A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date.

Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.

The candidates may be named in the contract for the convenience of traders. In the event that any named candidate is replaced as the nominee of their respective party prior to election day, the name in the contract will be updated and the market will resolve based on the replacement nominee of the party.

The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.

## What this brief cannot settle

This brief was assembled automatically from a research report that met a published quality bar. No individual review. It rests on 30 claims from 18 publishers; anything not reported in those sources is not represented here. The report recorded 6 resolution risks, listed with this brief.

- The end date of 2026-11-04T04:59:00Z is only 3 days after the November 2026 election, which may be too early for all three sources to call the race or for official certification to occur in a close race.
- The description mentions candidates other than Democrat or Republican 'may be added at a later date,' leaving resolution unclear if an independent or third-party candidate wins.
- Candidates running as independents are explicitly excluded from the Democrat/Republican options, but it is unclear how the market resolves if an independent with Democratic affiliation wins.
- The requirement that all three sources (AP, Fox News, NBC) must call the race for the same candidate before resolving via those sources introduces potential delay or conflict if sources disagree.
- No specific timezone is defined for the end date, which could create ambiguity around the deadline.
- The nominee replacement clause relies on an undefined process for determining when a replacement occurs and who qualifies as the party nominee.
