## The question, as the venue words it

Will the Democrats win the Texas Senate race in 2026?

## How this market settles

This market will resolve according to the winner of the 2026 midterm Texas U.S. Senate election, inclusive of any run-offs.

A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date.

Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.

The candidates may be named in the contract for the convenience of traders. In the event that any named candidate is replaced as the nominee of their respective party prior to election day, the name in the contract will be updated and the market will resolve based on the replacement nominee of the party.

The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.

## What this brief cannot settle

This brief was assembled automatically from a research report that met a published quality bar. No individual review. It rests on 30 claims from 10 publishers; anything not reported in those sources is not represented here. The report recorded 5 resolution risks, listed with this brief.

- The end date of 2026-11-04T04:59:00Z appears to be before Election Day in November 2026, suggesting the date may be a placeholder or error — the market description references runoffs which could extend resolution significantly beyond this date.
- Resolution requires all three sources (AP, Fox News, NBC) to call the race for the same candidate, but no fallback timeline is specified for how long to wait before defaulting to official certification.
- Candidates running as independents are explicitly excluded from Democrat/Republican resolution, but no guidance is given on how the market resolves if a major-party nominee drops out after the primary and an independent with party affiliation wins.
- No explicit timezone is stated for the end date, though UTC is implied by the format.
- The description mentions candidates 'may be named in the contract for convenience' but no specific candidates are named, leaving uncertainty about who the Democratic nominee will be.
